Broken springs.
Broken springs are the most common garage door repair. If your door won't budge — even when the release is pulled and you try to lift it manually — odds are you have a broken spring. Do not attempt to open or close the door; you'll only cause further damage.
Springs operate under extreme tension, which is what makes a properly balanced door feel light. Most people don't realize how heavy their door is until a spring breaks. Over time, daily use causes springs to become brittle.
We replace both springs as standard. They wear at the same rate, so replacing only the broken one puts excess load on the survivor and shortens its life.
Safety: never attempt spring work yourself. The tension stored in a torsion spring can cause serious injury. Call a licensed professional.
